Is Peach That Weak?

We all think of Peach as that dumb blonde who always gets kidnapped... And could only do something right in two games: Super Mario Bros. 2(Western) and Super Mario RPG. Are we wrong?

Super Mario Bros.
Peach is kidnapped the first time, caught a bit by surprise. Understandable.

Super Mario Bros. 2(Japanese)
Most people would get some security after that first incident... Peach didn't. Bowser has her in his clutches again.

Super Mario Bros. 2(Western)
Bowser isn't taking over the Mushroom Kingdom, so Peach isn't immediately out of the picture like she normally ends up. When she has her freedom, she can fight well. Why doesn't she do this to Bowser when he comes?

Super Mario Bros. 3
Perhaps she has seeked security, but no one in the kingdom is as strong as our plucky plumbers. She's stuck with the weird turtle guy again. This time, though, she's able to get out letters to her seven kingdoms that Bowser's kids control. She must know her way around Bowser by now, although she's still trapped inside the castle.

Super Mario World
She's back to her weak self... or maybe not? There's no couriers to deliver her letters since she's in a strange new land with no mushroom retainers to look to for help. In turn, we don't know if she was weak again or if she tried to help, but failed. She certainly helped at the end with those two mushrooms. When she yelled help, don't point fingers--you'd feel as if you were made of jello if you were in that clown 'copter, no?

Super Mario RPG
Once again, she's able to help out because she has her freedom.

Super Mario 64
Other than the little scribble of a note outside Bowser's first fight, she didn't do anything. Then again, she WAS trapped inside of a stained glass window. But didn't she have the power to undo Bowser's black magic?

Mario Parties
Bowser figures he'll have a better chance at taking over other lands... but the crew, along with Peach, dash after to decide who is the better. She shows her guts again and helps kick Bowser out.

Paper Mario
This time, she has the help of Twink, the last Star Kid to go up into the sky. We see what we might've seen back in Super Mario Bros. 3, as she creeps about the castle gathering information and items to help Mario.

So is Peach who we make her out to be?
