All of these words can be applied to "shot", "hit", etc. and "service return" as long as they don't contrast.
Flowing
You hit the ball back in the same direction using the + pad, making a "V" with you at the bottom point.
Drop
B, A makes you hit a shot that's slow and tends to plop a second time on the court before your rival gets to it.
Lob
A, B sends out a shot that goes high. If you don't let this one charge, though, it makes for an easy smash hit for your foe.
Slice
B, B gives you a shot that flies by with a blue streak. This is most often used for aiming.
Topspin
A, A hits a powerful shot. It has an orange tail.
Flat
A+B is sort of a Jack of all trades, as it can't quite aim well and isn't too powerful.
Smash
A+B when you hold the racket overhead makes the Flat Shot smash through with good aim and power.
These are types of serves.
Corner
When you serve from the outermost of the court and aim to the innermost of the court.
Inside
This serve is started in the middle, and is aimed towards the service court you don't want the ball in.
Corner In
A serve made from the outermost of the court and is aimed to the service court you don't want the ball in.
Inside Out
This one hits from the middle court and is aimed to the outermost of the court.
